Mika Ninagawa

Born in Tokyo in 1972, Mika Ninagawa has won numerous prizes for her photography. Her work is distinguished by a gorgeously saturated colors and stylized compositions. Lauded as an art and fashion photographer, Mika Ninagawa has become a cultural superstar in Japan since her debut only a decade ago. Her images are constantly exhibited in Japan and abroad and much loved by art collectors. Her latest book  published by Rizzoli New York, features portraits of international personalities, among them Cameron Diaz, Dita von Teese, Chiaki Kuriyama, and elaborate, fantasy-infused landscapes and still-life images.
Ninagawa's photos are associated with "Pop" and "colorful motifs" like goldfish and flowers. Her distinctive colors are clearly inscribed in all her works, though her many motifs vary from flowers, goldfish, and landscapes to little girls.
